Hi everyone, Dr. Cam here, taking a moment to reflect this week.
My journey has taken me across the country. I spent my earliest years near the beaches of Santa Barbara, California – a beautiful place with a laid-back vibe. Then came the move to the completely different landscape of rural Mead, Washington, with its farms, forests, and distinct seasons. After that, my Navy service took me literally around the world, including challenging deployments far from home. And now, for the past several years, I’ve been privileged to call North Florida home, building my practice and raising my family here.
Each place has its own unique character, its own pace, its own beauty. From the Pacific coast to the Inland Northwest forests to the battlefields overseas, and now to the sunshine and pines of North Florida – the scenery changes, but some things remain constant. People everywhere want to feel healthy, be active, connect with their community, and provide for their families. The desire for well-being is universal.
My diverse background – growing up in different environments, working physically demanding jobs like farming, competing as an athlete, serving in the military alongside Marines from all walks of life, and importantly, navigating my own journey with chronic pain and herniated discs – has given me a broad perspective. It helps me connect with the varied experiences of the people I meet here in North Florida. Whether you grew up here or moved here from somewhere else, whether you work outdoors or in an office, whether you’re an athlete or just trying to keep up with kids or grandkids, I can likely relate to some aspect of your experience.
Becoming a chiropractor and settling here in North Florida wasn’t just a career choice; it was about finding a place to put down roots and serve a community. My time at Palmer College’s Port Orange campus gave me my first taste of Florida life, and I knew this was where I wanted to practice. Helping my neighbors manage their pain, improve their health, and live fuller lives is my passion. It’s about bringing all those experiences – the Californian kid, the Washington farmhand, the track athlete, the Navy Corpsman, the husband and father, the person who understands pain – to my role as your chiropractor.
Thank you, North Florida, for welcoming me and my family. I look forward to continuing to serve this wonderful community.
